SABER’s paintings draw from the techniques, materials, and raw energy he developed early in his career, most notably in 1996 when he gained international attention after creating the world’s largest graffiti piece along the Los Angeles River. The monumental scale and visibility of the work — later recognized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History with a commissioned miniature diorama version — brought unprecedented public attention to graffiti as an art form. Known for a 250-by-55-foot piece visible even from space, SABER has since continued to explore movement, force, and momentum within his studio practice, translating street-born intensity onto canvas.
